The project involved the design and build of a new high specification alarm response centre for G4S in the Harbour Estate. The two storey building incorporates office accommodation secure communications, training facilities and car parking. The building was constructed on a brownfield site within the Harbour Estate, with works including piled foundations, pile caps and ground beams, structural steel frame with precast concrete floors and external cladding incorporating extensive fenestration and curtain walling. The building was BREEAM assessed and achieved Very Good rating, which is as high as a building of this nature can be expected to achieve

Due to the secure nature of the building which was constructed to British Security Industry Standards it had to be inspected, tested and certified prior to handover. One aspect of the security requirements was that the windows were not allowed to be opened therefore the entire building required air conditioning.
